Once we receive your request, our dedicated Price Match Team will:

  • Verify the competitor’s offer.
  • Confirm whether it meets our eligibility criteria.
  • Contact you to confirm our revised offer — in most cases, we will either match or beat the competitor’s price.

 

2. Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for our Price Match Promise, all of the following must apply:

  • The product must be identical in every way — including brand, manufacturer, model/SKU, dimensions, materials, colour, finish, and specification.
  • The competitor must be a UK-based, VAT-registered retailer that is authorised to sell the brand or product in question.
  • The competitor’s price must be publicly advertised online, clearly visible to all customers (not a private or trade quote).
  • The product must be in stock and available for immediate dispatch from the competitor at the time of request.
  • The competitor’s total price must include all applicable costs, such as VAT, delivery fees, or surcharges.
  • The product must be new, unused, and in its original manufacturer packaging.
  • The comparison price must represent a normal retail selling price and not a short-term or erroneous promotion.

Downton Home Furnishings Ltd will verify that the offer is genuine, current, and comparable before approval.

 

3. Exclusions

Our Price Match Promise does not apply to:

  • Products sold via marketplaces or auction sites (e.g. eBay, Amazon Marketplace, Wayfair Marketplace, Etsy).
  • Trade-only, wholesale, or commercial quotations not available to the general public.
  • Items included in flash sales, timed promotions, clearance, bundle deals, or liquidation events.
  • Ex-display, pre-owned, refurbished, or graded products.
  • Grey imports or items from international retailers outside the UK, or those not trading in GBP (£).
  • Made-to-order or bespoke pieces where fabrics, finishes, or configurations vary.

  • Prices that result from technical errors, typographical mistakes, or short-term glitches.

 

4. Limitations and Company Discretion
